Animal Profile:

The Southern Greater Kudu.

The southern greater kudu: Tragelaphus strepsicerous is probably Africa's most recognizable species. The " Grey ghost of the bushveld " is the tallest of the African antelope. Kudu are widely distributed across Africa but are restricted to where habitat is suitable.

It is a savanna woodland species, preferring light forest or fairly thick bush often in rocky mountainous or hilly country seldom far from water.

The kudu is quintessential Africa and any hunter that visits the continent will, at some stage, take a kudu.

This video takes a look at this magnificent animal.
